Now that you all are warmed up from the APA dodgeball games, it is time to hone in your skills and display your impeccable aim and drunken style dodge maneuvers at our annual TAPS dodgeball tournament.

This year we’ll be having the show down at Mercer Island’s Park on the Lid.
We will be hosting the dodgeball at Area C of the park:

* Area C (West end open field)

From I-90 westbound take Island Crest Way (Exit #7).
Continue straight through the stop light on North Mercer Way.
Turn left onto 76th Avenue SE.
Turn right onto SE 24th Street.
Continue up the hill and turn right onto West Mercer Way.
The parking lot will be on the left just past the I-90 entrance.

From I-90 eastbound take West Mercer Way (Exit #6).
Turn left onto West Mercer Way.
The parking lot is on your left just past the I-90 entrance.

Parking will be limited, so we suggest that you carpool. Please RSVP so we know how many teams to split people up.

So bring yourself, your friends, your enemies, your friends enemies and be ready for a dodgeball showdown that’ll be talked about for years to come, or at least till next year’s tourney!

為協助台灣企業引進美加地區的優秀人才，今年度特別由中華民國行政院科技顧問組、國科會、經濟部及中華民國對外貿易發展協會等單位共同協調籌組的「2008年行政院延攬海外科技人才訪問團」，將於2008年8月24日於西雅圖機場的Hilton飯店舉辦攬才說明會」，現場將由資策會、工研院、研華科技、藥華醫藥等10多家廠商將參加攬才行列。

說明會及徵才活動由台灣國科會與經濟部指導、溫哥華台灣貿易中心主辦、中國工程師協會西雅圖分會協辦。溫哥華台灣貿易中心主任蔡文凱介紹，今年延攬領域包括基礎科學、生醫技術、影像顯示、數位內容、資通科技、半導體、能源科技、環境、海洋與天然災害、奈米與尖端材料科技、重點服務業、國際法政、以及人文藝術等12項領域。參加攬才的有國內外極具知名度之產、學、研各界代表參團計提供462筆與半導體、光電、資通訊、金屬材料、金融保險、生技及車輛等產業相關之職缺，人才需求1,224位。
　　
當日除了徵才面試活動，行政院政務委員張進福親自領軍，偕同副團長經濟部次長施顏祥、國科會副主委張文昌，分別向僑胞宣導新政府「產業創新」、「新興產業」及「政策鬆綁」的政策。政府為了鼓勵人才回台服務，在薪資補助、分紅入股、納稅、健保、兵役、子女教育等方面都有完善的優惠措施。歡迎海外留學生、有多年工作經驗的高科技人材，以及退休人士都來嘗試這次機會。

除了參與海外攬才媒合商談會之外，亦可透過「延攬海外科技人才網站」預先登錄，這個由經濟部主辦、外貿協會負責經營的攬才網站，主要任務為提供台灣業界，與海外科技人才一個免費、雙向互動媒合功能的求才求職平台。有意者可先上網登記寄送履歷表，網站地址為http://hirecruit.nat.gov.tw/chinese/tour_menu.asp。現場報名的應徵者，可參加2台Wii遊戲機幸運獎抽獎活動。

Are you interested in helping build houses for our community? Come help build homes at the Koinonia Ridge site in Snoqualmie. Here Habitat for Humanity EKC has undertaken the largest Habitat development in the Northwest region. Snoqualmie has offered 10 acres for the construction of 50 single family homes.

Here is some general information about the work day:

• Everyone should plan to arrive at 8:45 to sign-in and fill out liability waivers. We will begin with a short safety briefing, and then divide into crews for the day.
• All volunteers must wear long pants, close toed shoes, and shirts with sleeves (ie no shorts, tank tops or sandals). Volunteers not adhering to the dress code will not be allowed to build.
• Volunteers should bring a lunch and a water bottle.
• We will be working outside rain or shine, so please dress appropriately
• We have all of the tools you’ll need, but many volunteers like to bring their own work gloves.

We currently have 10 slots open for volunteers on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are interested in helping out, please email Andy Shen <asheniam@gmail.com> with your Name and Phone Number.
