Joint TAPS and NAAAP Annual Holiday Toy Drive and Lim Jiu

Posted on November 17, 2008

December 5, 2008
6:00 pmto9:00 pm

Please join us for our Holiday Toy Drive and Lim Jiu hosted by TAPS and NAAAP. We’ve had terrific turnouts and look forward to your participation in making this joint Holiday Toy Drive and Lim Jiu a success for our chosen charities. To accommodate the large number of attendees from both groups, we are hosting the event at Tia Lou’s in Belltown with the food buffet prepared by the Tia Lou kitchen (Mexican food).

Friday, December 5th, 2008 from 6 to 9 PM

Tia Lou’s Restuarant and Bar – 2218 1st Ave, Seattle, WA

Toys donated by you will be given to two local organizations which support our Asian communities:

Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) – A multi-service nonprofit organization offering a broad array of human services and behavioral health programs to Asian Pacific Americans. ACRS serves all the different Asian Pacific American communities – immigrants, refugees and American born – in the Pacific Northwest.

International District Housing Alliance – A non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for International District residents and Asian and Pacific Islanders of greater Seattle. IDHA provides low-income housing, homeownership education and counseling, financial literacy, tutoring and support, job skills and related services.

To encourage your participation for this charitable cause, individuals who bring toys to the mixer will receive a complimentary wine/well drink/beer from the Tia Lou bar. Please note that ACRS and IDHA request that all toys be either new in original packaging or “gently” used.

Visionshock will continue the toy drive effort later that night as Tia Lou’s becomes a nightclub. All NAAAP and TAPS members who attend the mixer will be able to attend the Visionshock Toy Drive party without cover.

Everyone will receive a name tag at registration. Please put an interesting conversation point about you below your name (Hint: Come up with something creative before you get there).

Please help us plan accordingly for food by registering in advance. The cost at the door will be $15 (cash or check only). Proceeds collected will cover food expenses. Remaining funds will be donated to the above charities along with the toys we receive.

To encourage early registration we have discounted pre-pay options that are fully refundable if cancellation is received by Thursday, December 4th at 5 pm:
